Alex Katsuragawa has developed an independent visual language over many years—a language that is not merely an expression of his inner world but also an authentic and unmistakable form of art production. For him, this visual language feels like the discovery of a new word—a word capable of capturing a thought that had previously been left unspoken. His aim is not simply to illustrate an idea, but to reduce it to its very essence.
His works are not decorative objects; they are attempts to express himself in a direct and clear manner. They consciously avoid any form of distraction and focus solely on what truly matters to the artist. In an era when many artistic works are shaped by an abundance of visual stimuli, the artist positions himself in clear opposition: His works possess an intensity and clarity that often invite viewers to reflect on what is essential.
